Andy + Jordan: Vasquez Rocks Anniversary Session

A VASQUEZ ROCKS ANNIVERSARY SESSION

Andy and Jordan were between Malibu Creek Park or Vasquez Rocks for their engagement session. We wound up doing Malibu Creek State Park (check it out!) then their micro-wedding happened in August 2020. They originally had only used part of their hours of coverage with plans to do either a bigger wedding the following year or a party/reception with friends and family who couldn’t be at their micro-wedding. Fast forward a few months, they quickly decided they likely wouldn’t do anything in CA / would probably do something out of state with Jordan’s family. I told them to keep me updated regardless of it being in/out of state.

With no plans for a reception or out of state wedding, I kept thinking about what I could do for them with the additional hours of coverage they had with me. They never asked for a refund and didn’t expect anything, but deep down I felt like I needed to fulfill my end of the agreement in some form. I offered to use their remaining time toward an anniversary session and suggested we finally take photos at Vasquez Rocks. To make it even better, we wound up doing the shoot almost exactly one year from their original wedding date. The pictures were magical and it was so fun catching up with them!

Nathan + Psalm: Grace Community Church Wedding

A GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH WEDDING

Talk about a fun, Jesus loving couple right here! I had a blast photographing their wedding alongside my friend Alexa. They were married at Grace Community Church surrounded by family and friends. They did a “first prayer",” where they didn’t see each other, but rather held hands and prayed together before their ceremony. It was such a special and beautiful moment.

Their reception was one for the books. They gave me a heads up their reception would be pretty unique compared to other wedding receptions. There was no dancing (including no first dance), but they had areas setup for their guests to play games, read books, drink tea, and more as well as a talent show. Virginia: Ventura At Home Motherhood Session

I absolutely love getting to photograph such pivotal times in Virginia’s life. Her family has grown, which you probably saw from our previous maternity session. We finally managed to snap some updated family photos a year after Agatha was born. I drove up to Ventura to their home and we took photos in the nursery. How sweet are they?!

A FATHER SON DAY AT THE FAIR

Get ready for the OC fair! It’s legit one of the best places to do photos, whether it’s family or engagement photos. It was a somewhat crowded day, but we were able to find pockets of space for photos and most people were nice enough to walk around us. We did our best to be out of the way though because I hate “putting on a show” or being in the way. Let’s go run around the fair though! Hit me upppp!

Erika + Mike: In Home Riverside Couple's Session

AN IN HOME PODCAST COUPLE’S SESSION

Erika and Mike wanted some updated photos in their temporary Riverside home & since they have a podcast, we focused a little on those shots. They needed an updated cover for their podcast plus some lifestyle shots for Erika, which turned out so cute and fun! Pro trip: make those photos feel like YOU! The whole point of an engagement or couple’s session is to make it feel like you, so if you’re homebodies, let’s take photos in your home. If you hike a lot, let’s go hike at one of your favorite trails! Erika and Mike truly made this shoot feel like them, which made for even better photos!!
