Kassy + Scott: Stanford Graduate School Couple Session

A DANA POINT COUPLE’S SESSION

Kassy and Scott both got into grad school at Stanford and wanted to do a little announcement photo shoot. They recently bought a house in Dana Point, so it made sense to take photos in their backyard. Dana Point has some great locations, but one of my favorites in the Dana Point Harbor, specifically the Ocean Institute. The tide wasn’t too hide, so we were able to go down on the beach as well.

When it comes to posing, they really wanted to show off their shirts, but still be cute and cuddly. We had to get a little creative after we did the basic “stand there and smile” shots. Don’t be afraid to get in close, snuggle, and make each other laugh. Kassy kept moving, so we were able to get some natural, in the moment photos that also look somewhat posed.

After we snapped some photos with their Stanford shirts, they switched into another outfit for some anniversary photos and headshots. We were also able to go down on the sand and they even got into the water.

Andy + Jordan: Vasquez Rocks Anniversary Session

A VASQUEZ ROCKS ANNIVERSARY SESSION

Andy and Jordan were between Malibu Creek Park or Vasquez Rocks for their engagement session. We wound up doing Malibu Creek State Park (check it out!) then their micro-wedding happened in August 2020. They originally had only used part of their hours of coverage with plans to do either a bigger wedding the following year or a party/reception with friends and family who couldn’t be at their micro-wedding. Fast forward a few months, they quickly decided they likely wouldn’t do anything in CA / would probably do something out of state with Jordan’s family. I told them to keep me updated regardless of it being in/out of state.

With no plans for a reception or out of state wedding, I kept thinking about what I could do for them with the additional hours of coverage they had with me. They never asked for a refund and didn’t expect anything, but deep down I felt like I needed to fulfill my end of the agreement in some form. I offered to use their remaining time toward an anniversary session and suggested we finally take photos at Vasquez Rocks. To make it even better, we wound up doing the shoot almost exactly one year from their original wedding date. The pictures were magical and it was so fun catching up with them!

Tereza + Vital: Dana Point Harbor Anniversary Session

A DANA POINT HARBOR ANNIVERSARY SESSION

My friend Vital and his fiance Tereza came to visit Southern California from New York, so of course we had to meet up for a little shoot! They drove down and met me in Dana Point. I showed them around Dana Point a little bit even though it was rainy as heck. It cleared up a bit for our shoot and just as we were wrapping, it started to sprinkle. Gotta love gloomy, rainy photos though!

Coline + Nicolas: Paris In Home Couple Session

Can’t believe I’m just blogging this couple session with Coline and Nicolas in their home in Paris. Nicolas and I first met in Los Angeles when he moved out there to model for a little while. We always connect when we’re in the same city, so I made sure to reach out when I was in Paris (pre-covid of course). I met them at their flat and we wound up taking some cute photos.

Bret and I have a few mutual friends, so I was pumped when he reached out about doing a shoot. We pulled together some ideas and inspiration then met up in Beverly Hills at one of his favorite locations. He’s a photographer as well, so I definitely felt the pressure leading up to this shoot.
