This beachy backyard wedding was absolutely STUNNING! I couldn’t stop staring at the insane ocean view of the Dana Point harbor & all the detailed decor. Nick’s dad designed the beautiful landscape of their home, which made it the perfect location for this intimate backyard wedding in Southern California.
Kassy + Scott: Stanford Graduate School Couple Session
A DANA POINT COUPLE’S SESSION
Kassy and Scott both got into grad school at Stanford and wanted to do a little announcement photo shoot. They recently bought a house in Dana Point, so it made sense to take photos in their backyard. Dana Point has some great locations, but one of my favorites in the Dana Point Harbor, specifically the Ocean Institute. The tide wasn’t too hide, so we were able to go down on the beach as well.
When it comes to posing, they really wanted to show off their shirts, but still be cute and cuddly. We had to get a little creative after we did the basic “stand there and smile” shots. Don’t be afraid to get in close, snuggle, and make each other laugh. Kassy kept moving, so we were able to get some natural, in the moment photos that also look somewhat posed.
After we snapped some photos with their Stanford shirts, they switched into another outfit for some anniversary photos and headshots. We were also able to go down on the sand and they even got into the water.

Jane and I have been following each other on Instagram for a while. She invited me to her bakery a few times for some baked goodies and to meet her dog. The timing just never worked out, so I was beyond excited when she reached out about doing a shoot with her dog! Her boyfriend joined as well and we all met in San Juan for a fun little shoot!
Bryan + Georgia: Dana Point Harbor Dog Lovers
A DANA POINT HARBOR ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Whether you're chasing them down the beach or trying to get them to relax for a posed photo, dogs are always a blast to have on an engagement shoot! Bryan + Georgia brought their two dogs for the first 30 minutes of their engagement shoot and I told them to just have fun with their dogs and pretend I'm not even there. Their friend came and walked the dogs the rest of the time we were shooting, so we could get some killer shots of Bryan and Georgia! I'm so excited to photograph their wedding come September! Can't believe it's less than 6 months away!!
