Anastasiya + Brendan: Pasadena City Hall Bridals

A PASADENA CITY HALL ANNIVERSARY SESSION

Anastasiya and Brendan celebrated one year of marriage with a gorgeous anniversary session at Pasadena City Hall and Arlington Garden. Brendan messaged me about doing this session a few months in advance and I was so pumped. I took their engagement photos, so of course I was stoked to get to photograph another special moment in their life. He made an adorable card telling her he had a session booked with me for her. She texted me right away so excited to start planning.

Brendan and I had already made somewhat of a plan, which included a first look. I planned to pick her up at their apartment while Brendan was supposedly still hard at work, except Brendan and I also made a little plan to re-create a first look since they didn’t have one on their wedding day. They were going to be in their wedding attire, so. I told him to be ready and standing in the middle of garden. He and I were in communication so he knew when I picked her up and our ETA. After she and I parked, I told her I would run up and get set up so I could get photos of her walking into the garden. As she started walking up, she realized he was there and was so stunned. It was such a special moment!! If you didn’t experience a first look on your wedding day, why not recreate one during an anniversary session or a vow renewal?

Nelson + Shae: Brooklyn Bridge Park Anniversary Photos

A BROOKLYN BRIDGE ANNIVERSARY SESSION

Nelson and Shae were in New York for their anniversary and wanted to have photos taken. When Shae emailed me, I just assumed she was from Orange County as well, but turns out they’re from Texas! They found me thanks to Instagram and my website - so cool! It was so fun to connect with them and hang out in Brooklyn even on a fairly cold day.

Barbara + Mario: Paris Anniversary Session

AN ANNIVERSARY SESSION IN PARIS

My friend Barbara and her boyfriend Mario had planned a Paris trip for their anniversary. She’s so sweet and always reaches out to me to see if we’ll be in the same city and for once we were! We planned to meet up and shoot for a few hours, but it was definitely a lot colder than we had expected. We managed to get some awesome shots at the Eiffel Tower and around the city before heading to their hotel for a few final shots. They were staying fairly close to me, so it was an easy walk home after this shoot!

Bailey + Jordan: Brooklyn Anniversary Session

AN ANNIVERSARY SPENT RUNNING AROUND BROOKLYN IN THE FALL

Remember how I joined Phil Chester on a shoot and learned him? Well I also have the opportunity to do the same with Lindsey Roman and her sweet friends Bailey and Jordan! They’re so cool and hip, so Brooklyn definitely made sense for an anniversary session. It wasn’t too cold, but even so, we had them cuddle up together as much as possible and run around like crazy. I didn’t have any film left for this shoot, but definitely wish I had!

Bobby + Mavis: Huntington Beach Couple's Session

A WALK ON THE HUNTINGTON BEACH PIER

Huntington Beach at sunset with a rad couple - I mean WOW! I am obsessed. Bobby and Mavis are SO sweet and wanted to book a shoot after they saw the photos I took of their son’s family. We met up in Huntington Beach and took some shots on the pier, main beach, and Main/PCH. They’re such cool people and are so in love, which made my job so easy.

Pro tip: wear what you’re most comfortable in, especially if you’re opting for a mini session. When you’re comfortable in your clothes, you’ll be much more comfortable in front of the camera! It also helps having your honey to snuggle up with ;)
