I had the pleasure of attending WRKSHP and learning from one of the best, Phil Chester. His work is incredible - so simple and effortless yet he captures each person and couple in such a unique way. It was interesting to hear how he shoots as well as watch as he shot. We also had some time to shoot with the couple and it was a blast. I shot half a roll of film as well, so check out those film shots in there!! I definitely want to incorporate more film shots here and there!

Brooke + Chris: Central Park Proposal

A WALK THROUGH CENTRAL PARK

All right all right! First blog post of 2019!! BROOKE AND CHRIS ARE ENGAGED!!! Ow ow! How freaking cute are they?! I’ve shot in Central Park a million and one times, but this was my first Central Park proposal and it was AMAZING! Soooo let me tell you about how awesome these two are - They had just arrived in New York after a redeye from CA (I mean who doesn’t do that?!) and Central Park was their first stop (other than swinging by their hotel to freshen up). Chris and I were texting back and forth ferociously trying to make a plan of action because it had rained and our original spot was pretty muddy. We were both hoping the rain wouldn’t cause Brooke to “cancel” (she had no idea why Chris REALLY wanted to go to Central Park) their walk in Central Park. It’s pretty dang hard surprising someone!! Chris couldn’t rush her without giving it away ANDDD he nearly lost it when she picked up his jacket where the ring was. Thankfully she didn’t feel it and was totally surprised when he got down on one knee on Gapstow Bridge. There was a crowd of people behind them taking selfies and another crowd behind me clapping and cheering. Talk about a great way to end 2018!

Chris - you nailed it! Brooke and Chris - you were both amazing and I’m so thankful I was able to be a part of such a special moment for you both!! Congrats!!!

Brian + Loren: Lower East Side Manhattan Couple's Session

Well aren’t they freaking cute?!?! Brian and Loren KILL ME!!!! They are both super stylish dudes (expect more shoots with them!) and two of the kindest souls out there. It’s not a surprise they wound up together. I’ve been bugging Brian to do a shoot with Loren and Loren’s been bugging Brian to do a shoot with me. After enough nagging, Brian gave in and it was SO DANG FUN!!! We wandered around Soho and Lower East Side. Enjoy!!

UGH these two just killll me! I MEAN LOOK AT THAT!! The way he looks at her - that smile! AH I pray for love like that and hot dang they have it! I was so so stoked to do this engagement shoot with them and I'm even more excited to get to shoot their city hall elopement in a couple weeks! YAAAY!

Alex + Maria: Brazil to New York

A BRAZILIAN LOVE STORY IN NYC

Alex and Maria are two of the sweetest people I've met! I first worked with Alex when he was signed to Adam Models. Now he's signed to MSA and his gorgeous girlfriend is now his fiancé! He mentioned Maria wanted to shoot with me after seeing the shots he and I had taken and of course I wanted to photograph her! It took a few attempts, but it finally happened and I remember the entire shoot I kept asking Alex if/when he was going to propose because they have been together for 7 years! Well he proposed and she said yes and I'm so glad I was able to snap these photos pre-engagement!
