Look at those mountains! Ranielle and Santi were married at a gorgeous venue at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains. Ranielle wore her mom’s dress (isn’t it amazing?!) and Santi had a piece of his dad with him. They had a small wedding party, which made my job that much easier, but also ensured they were surrounded by their closest friends and family. The venue offered so many beautiful backdrops for photos and we made sure to have fun and use all of them!
Ahhh these sweet friends of mine!! Benji and I have been Facebook friends for years and have followed each other on Instagram. We finally met up to do a shoot with a brand last year. He had such good things to say about Connor, so I knew I needed to meet him and do a shoot with the two of them. Then they adopted Ava, so I knew we needed to do a shoot ASAP!! We met up in Chelsea for this sweet little shoot (right after I got back from Boston by the way on a bus!). Enjoy these cuties!
I seriously love second shooting for Nicole Leever. She works with some of the coolest couples at epic wedding venues. Ebell was definitely on my list of venues to work at. It’s beautiful and offers so many backdrops for photos throughout the venue. You can have a ceremony and reception here, but this couple chose to get married at a nearby church and have their reception here. Check it out below!
My friend Bryce got engaged (and is now married) and of course we had to take some engagement photos. Bryce and I met on a test shoot because as I’m sure you guessed, he’s a model. We had wanted to do another shoot, so this gave us a chance to do another one. We planned a date then he booked a job, postponed to another date and it rained, postponed again and it rained, but this time we pushed through. We went to a couple of cute coffeeshops that I knew would let us shoot inside and eventually it cleared up long enough for us to do a few photos at the beach. We ended the day with Pho and I should have taken photos of that too, but man I love these photos even without those shots.
Krystill’s family was in town and she wanted to do a little shoot to document it! They planned a beach day at Pearl St beach in Laguna Beach and I met them there for a fun lifestyle family session. She prepped me beforehand by saying it would likely be hard to get all of the kids together for a posed photos and she was more excited for candid photos. I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy a lifestyle family session like this, especially since the parents didn’t expect posed photos. We let the kids run wild and I just snapped away! It was probably the most fun I’ve ever had on a family session and they loved the photos.
Family photos don’t have to be super posey or feel stale, but instead can be really fun and document you as a family in your day to day life. This was just a fun beach day they had planned and they wound up getting beautiful photos out of it!
