AN INTIMATE SANTA BARBARA WEDDING
Keith and Lauren got married in Santa Barbara surrounded by their families and closest friends. When you think intimate wedding, you probably think something like a COVID wedding with less than 50 people, maybe even less than 20 people. Keith and Lauren’s wedding was around 65 people, which is definitely intimate when you’ve photographed weddings with 300+ guests. We started off at Santa Barbara Courthouse with a first look, wedding party photos, and family photos. I was so worried because we were running a bit behind until I found out everyone who was a part of the wedding was there with us at the courthouse. I didn’t have to worry about anyone waiting on us including the officiant! Don’t worry, we got back on schedule no problem ;)
Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding
Now this also isn’t the courthouse wedding you are picturing in your head because the Santa Barbara Courthouse has the most beautiful architecture, with lots of room for guests to attend if you wish! Keith and Lauren chose to have their guests join them at the courthouse for an intimate moment and some special photos. This courthouse is stunning and also has a garden area for you to hold a traditional ceremony if you wish. Garden Ceremony
After, we headed to Santa Barbara Inn for a beautiful ceremony on the lawn. I mean!! Look at those palm trees and the light ah! It was such a perfect representation of Santa Barbara. After signing their marriage license and one big group photo, we headed down to the beach for some beautiful photos. Fun fact, Lauren was also a bridesmaid in Lexi and Rendon’s South Lake Tahoe wedding I had the honor of photographing. Check out that beautiful wedding here too.
It’s All About Location
One big reason I loved the Santa Barbara Inn is because how close it was to the beach! And by close I mean right across the street!! This makes it so easy for us to get a variety of photos in different locations without having to get in the car and drive to a second location. Kara Nixon Weddings
Lauren and Keith hired us for 6 hours and were able to get everything they wanted covered in that time. Getting ready photos weren’t super important for either of them, but reception was. They knew photos of speeches, toasts, dances, and cutting the cake were important to them. They also requested to capture all their sweet and silly moments together through out the day as that’s something they both cherish about one another. We made sure to have a heavy focus on them.
